At work a couple of days ago, I overheard an aid explain to a resident about being how she was upset because of something the resident said. The resident told another resident that the aid had a man voice. When the aid confronted the resident, the resident used the "I didn't do it" statement. She told the aid, "I didn't say that, I said you have a deep voice." A lot of people say "I didn't do it" when they really did. I think it is easier to say you did it and solve the problem, instead of lying about it and causing a bigger problem.
I agree that its easier to just confess if you did something. It makes it easier to help solve the problem.
ReplyDeleteA great reflection and application of excuses being used in the real world. They are everywhere!
