Communication is very important in life. It is especially important if you work at a job that requires good communication. I am a waitress at Prairie Meadows and I see a lot of bad communication between the residents and even our manager. When working with food, you need to have really good communication so that you don't mess up your orders on what we need to buy for food or what the residents want to eat for that day. If we have bad communication with the residents while taking their order, they will get angry if they didn't get what they wanted. Our manager is not a very good communicator either. She will tell us employees what to do, and then she will get mad if we don't do it right because she says she didn't mean it in the way she told us. It gets complicated when the employees don't communicate well with each other. It's also bad communication when the manager tells us to do something, and the boss tells us not to do that. Either way, we'll get in trouble for it because none of us understands what to do. There is a lot of things that go wrong down in the kitchen because the communication didn't get transferred well enough.

Great first blog post, Kenna! You are exactly right when you discuss the importance of good, successful communication in the workplace, especially in food service. I was a waitress for over four years, and I know exactly where you are coming from. Something to think about for next time you post about work is to not only reflect on what is happening, but think about what you or someone else could do to fix the situation.
