I watched a movied called Frozen, not the Disney movie. In the movie, there was a really good example of miscommunication. Three young adults wanted to go skiing one more time as the employee was closing the ski lift up for the week. There were three other people going down who were the last ones. These three young adults convinced the guy to let them on. It was dark and cold. After they got on, the guy was called into the boss's office, so he told another guy that there were three left and then shut it down. The guy seen the other three people come down and thought they were the last ones, so he turn the ski lift and lights off. He didn't know the guy was talking about the three young adults. They were stuck up on the skii lift for three or four days and two of them died. The two workers should have been paying more attention and communicated properly or that would of never happened. The first worker should of gave the other one more details about who was still skiing.

Physical Noise

We have talked about the different types of noises in class and did a helpful activity on it. I have experienced physical noise over the weekend. As my mom and I were watching a movie in our living room, the smoke alarms started to go off. They went off because heat from the shower upstairs got into the alarm and set them off. It interrupted our movie and it took about five minutes to get the alarms to stop beeping. I'm just glad that the alarms weren't going off because my house was on fire!

Since the quarter has started, we have been learning some interesting information. Learning about all of the different ways of communicating is helpful and its prepares us for our social lives. We are starting to learn about the Johari Window and how it works. It lets us in on what we may or may not know about ourselves and what others may or may not know about us. We can start realizing characteristics about ourselves that we may have just learned we have. I like the activity we are doing to go along with the Johair Window. I think that it is nice to see what others say about us and what they think about us. I hope that we get to keep doing these interesting topics and fun activities for the rest of the quarter.

Communication is very important in life. It is especially important if you work at a job that requires good communication. I am a waitress at Prairie Meadows and I see a lot of bad communication between the residents and even our manager. When working with food, you need to have really good communication so that you don't mess up your orders on what we need to buy for food or what the residents want to eat for that day. If we have bad communication with the residents while taking their order, they will get angry if they didn't get what they wanted. Our manager is not a very good communicator either. She will tell us employees what to do, and then she will get mad if we don't do it right because she says she didn't mean it in the way she told us. It gets complicated when the employees don't communicate well with each other. It's also bad communication when the manager tells us to do something, and the boss tells us not to do that. Either way, we'll get in trouble for it because none of us understands what to do. There is a lot of things that go wrong down in the kitchen because the communication didn't get transferred well enough.
